Onam is the major annual event of Kerala that is celebrated to commemorate the homecoming of the Asura King Mahabali from the Patal Lok. Onam festival is celebrated for 10 days and each day has its significance. Thiruvonam is the most auspicious day as it marks the end of Onam celebrations.
To celebrate this, the Kerala State Lotteries Department conducts a Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery every year at the time of the Onam festival. Thiruvonam Bumper lottery sales start around the third week of July month and the lucky draw takes place in the month of September, every year.
The prize money of Thiruvonam Bumper is the highest of all Kerala Lotteries. Also, it has the most number of prize winners than any other bumper lottery in Kerala. The prize money is being increased year-on-year. The highest first prize so far is 25 Crores, awarded in 2023.
90 Lakh Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery Tickets are printed in 10 series for sales this year. The price of each Thiruvonam bumper lottery ticket is ₹500, which includes of 28% GST. The series that is currently used for the Thiruvonam bumper lottery is listed below.
Thiruvonam bumper lottery is sold for a total collection of ₹351.57 Crores. Out of the total amount, ₹125.54 Crores is given away as prize money to the 5,34,670 total winners.
Thiruvonam bumper lottery has 10 total prizes including a consolation prize. 1st prize winner gets ₹25,00,00,000 (25 Crores) and 2nd prize is ₹1,00,00,000 (1 Crore ) for 20 lucky winners. Third prize of ₹50,00,000 each for 20 lucky winners. The complete list of prizes are given below:

Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery draw is held live at 3:00 p.m on the draw day. It takes around 50-60 minutes to select all the prize winners. Once the draw is complete, the Kerala State Lotteries Department officially releases the results as a PDF file in about 30-45 minutes. The same results are also published in the next day's newspapers.
