First and foremost, we would like to Congratulate you on winning a Kerala Lottery prize!  You're one of the luckiest people out there today. Claiming your lottery prize is an exciting and straightforward process, and we have a detailed step-by-step guide for you here that will clear all your doubts and help you speed up the claiming process. 

Before proceeding with prize claiming procedure, please make sure you understand the necessary information clearly by following the below steps.

1. Check Your Kerala Lottery Ticket: 

First and foremost, ensure that you have a valid prize-winning ticket. Please double-check the number and draw date with the government gazette and newspapers, to confirm your win.

2. Confim Winning Amount: 

Different prizes have varying claiming procedures based on the prize amount. The process for claiming small cash prizes differs from the one for claiming larger sums and bumper prizes. So, please be aware of the prize amount you've won.

3. Write details & add signature:

Please write your name and address on the backside of the ticket, along with your signature, if you haven't done so already. This is used to verify the ownership of the ticket. 

4. Make a copy of the ticket & keep it safe:

Please make a copy of the ticket on both the front and backside, as a precaution against loss or theft. After that, please keep this original printed ticket in a safe place, as you are required to submit it while you claim prize money.

5. Tax Deduction & Agent Commission:

Please keep in mind that the Kerala Lottery comes with a tax deduction for prizes exceeding Rs. 10,000. A 30% tax (plus a surcharge, if applicable) will be withheld. Also, there will be an agent commission deduction of 10% from the original winning amount (Only applicable for the first 3 prizes).

6. Prize Claim Deadline:

All prizes of the Kerala lottery should be claimed within 30 days of the draw. After this period, you may lose your right to claim your winnings, even if you submit proof of the delay, it is the sole decision of the Kerala Lottery Department to sanction the prize. 

7. Claim your prize money:

Please make sure you understand and follow all the steps above. Based on your prize amount, you can claim your prize by choosing one of the methods available below. Please read all the instructions carefully and collect your prize within 30 days of the draw.

Claiming Weekly & Bumper Lottery Prizes:

Prizes below ₹ 5000:

If you win ₹ 5000 or below in the Kerala lottery, you can directly visit any authorized Kerala lottery Agent submit the ticket, and receive the winning amount. All Kerala lottery against are allowed to receive the ticket and pay the prize amount to the winner, but he is not liable to do so.

Prizes below or equal to ₹ 1 Lakh:

Any prize amount below or equal to ₹ 1 Lakh can be claimed from the District Lottery offices that are located in any of the 14 districts of Kerala.

You will need to fill in the forms required and attach the documents needed to claim the prize.

Please follow these steps to claim the prize:

  1. Visit your local District Kerala Lottery Office in person.
  2. Bring your original winning lottery ticket and a copy of the ticket (Front and backside).
  3. Provide the original Aadhar card for identity verification and PAN card for tax purposes. Please make sure you have photocopies of the same with you. 
  4. Fill out the prize claim form available at the office, including your personal information and ticket details with the prize information.
  5. Submit to the designated authority and wait for the lottery authorities to verify your ticket and process your claim.
  6. After successful verification, you will be given an acknowledgment of the same and you will receive your prize amount in your bank account.

Prizes above ₹ 1 Lakh:

Prizes above Rs.1 Lakh must be surrendered before the Director of State Lotteries after affixing the signature, name, and address of the prize winner on the reverse of the tickets with all the required documents/forms. Please refer to the sections and follow the procedures mentioned based on the claim mode you choose. 

Claim Prize in Person:

  1. Visit the Kerala State Lottery Office: Please visit the Kerala State Lottery Office in person at the address given below with all the necessary documents and the original winning lottery ticket: Directorate of Kerala State Lotteries, Vikas Bhavan, University of Kerala Senate House Campus, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala 695033
  2. Original Lottery Ticket: The original prize-winning lottery ticket must be submitted along with the contact documents within 30 days from the date of the draw to receive the prize money. (But if the ticket cannot be produced within the above date, submit it along with an explanation explaining the reason for the delay in submitting the ticket.). Please make sure to add the signature of the prize winner at the designated space on the back of the prize ticket, name, and address (as in the Aadhaar card).
  3. Signed and Attested Photocopy: Take a photocopy of both sides of the ticket and should be self-attested and produced along with the prize ticket.
  4. Filled Application Form: Please obtain the lottery prize claim application form from any of these locations, Lottery Sub Office / District Lottery Office /Directorate of Lotteries / Offical Lottery Website (http://statelottery.kerala.gov.in/index.php/download-forms). Once you obtain the form, please fill out the application form available and affix two photographs of the winner, get the signature of the gazetted officer on the photograph and the name of the gazetted officer, post name, and office seal, and submit.
  5. Filled Prize Receipt: Fill out the prize receipt and submit it with the prize winner's signature on the revenue stamp and the prize winner's full address and phone number. ( Available from Lottery Sub Office / District Lottery Office / Directorate of Lottery / Official Website - http://statelottery.kerala.gov.in/index.php/download-forms )
  6. Self-attested Aadhaar and PAN Card: Please submit a self-attested photocopy of both sides of the Aadhaar card and PAN card of the prize winner. Those who do not have a PAN card should present it to the department along with other necessary documents within the ticket deadline. The amount will be disbursed on presentation of the PAN card.
  7. Bank Account Details: Prize money will be deposited to the winner's bank account directly. Please submit a photocopy of the bank passbook address page, which contains the winner's name and account details including Branch Name, IFSC Code, etc.  (Jandhan accounts and Zero balance accounts are not accepted.)

Claim Prize through Banks:

  1. Submit ticket within 30 days: The prize-winning lottery ticket must be presented within 30 days from the date of the draw. (But if the ticket cannot be produced within the above date, submit it along with an explanation explaining the reason for the delay in submitting the ticket.)
  2. Signed and Self-Attested Photocopy: After entering the prize winner's name, address, pin code, (as in the Aadhaar card), and signature at the designated space on the back of the prize ticket, self-attested photocopies of both sides should be produced along with the prize ticket.
  3. Filled Application Form: Fill out the prize claim application form, which is available from the Lottery Sub Office / District Lottery Office / Directorate of Lotteries / Official Website, and affix two photographs of the winner, the signature of the gazetted officer on the photograph and the name of the gazetted officer. , post name and office seal, and submit.
  4. Filled Prize Receipt: Fill out the prize receipt and submit it with the prize winner's signature on the revenue stamp and the prize winner's full address and phone number.   5. Self-attested Aadhaar and PAN Card: Please submit a self-attested photocopy of both sides of the Aadhaar card and PAN card of the prize winner. Those who do not have a PAN card should present it to the department along with other necessary documents within the ticket deadline. The amount will be disbursed on presentation of the PAN card.
  6. Bank Account Details: Prize money will be deposited to the winner's bank account directly. Please submit a photocopy of the bank passbook address page, which contains the winner's name and account details including Branch Name, IFSC Code, etc.  (Jandhan accounts and Zero balance accounts are not accepted.)
  7. Letter of Authorization: Submit a "Letter of Authorization", authorizing the bank to issue the prize ticket with name, signature, and address (Authorization letter specimen copy available at http://statelottery.kerala.gov.in/index.php/download-forms)
  8. Receiving Bank Certificate: Submit the "Receiving Bank Certificate" with the name, signature, and office seal of the manager issuing the prize-worthy ticket (Form available at this link)
  9. Collecting Bank Certificate: The bank in their own Thiruvananthapuram district to which the receiving bank approaches for presenting the prize ticket to the lottery directorate, submits the “ Collecting Bank Certificate” with the name, signature, and office seal of the bank manager.   10. Submit Receiving Bank & Collecting Bank Certificate: Even if the receiving bank and the collecting bank are the same, both certificates should be issued. The name of the submitting bank should be mentioned in both the certificates. (Form available at this link)

Other State Winners: 

If you're a winner from another state, you should submit all the above documents as per the mode you choose, along with they will need to provide a letter showing the reason for coming to Kerala and the circumstances for taking the ticket/copy of any ID card issued by the Government of Kerala should be self-attested or submitted.
